Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas’ wage demands could see his potential move to AC Milan fall through.
According to claims from Italian news outlet Corriere della Sera, as cited by Calciomercato, the Serie A giants remain keen to land the Spaniard in the January transfer window.
A host of clubs have been linked with swoops for Fabregas, who has found first-team football hard to come by following the appointment of Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea in the summer.
This has led speculation to surround the experienced Blues star’s future at Stamford Bridge, with Milan among those who have been touted as potential suitors.
It has recently been reported, though, that Fabregas is open to staying at Chelsea until the end of the season at least as he bids to win back his place in the starting line-up.
Nevertheless, should the Premier League giants see fit to offload the former Arsenal man in January, it seems he may need to lower his financial demands if Milan are to launch a move.
It’s claimed in the Italian media that Fabregas is demanding a four-year contract at San Siro. The 31-year-old is also stated by Corriere della Sera to be requesting €3.5 million per season in any potential transfer.
