Olivier Giroud could be set to trade Chelsea for Marseille in January, according to reports in Le Foot.
The 32-year-old only moved to Stamford Bridge from Arsenal at the beginning of the year, but he hasn’t always earned regular playing time there.
Giroud is currently out of favour under Maurizio Sarri, with Alvaro Morata preferred up front and the Frenchman scoring just once in 12 appearances this season.
It is believed that a loan switch to Marseille is on the cards in January, with Giroud heading back to his homeland in the process.

A permanent transfer could then happen at the end of the season, should all parties agree on a deal, with the striker’s Chelsea contract expiring next summer.
Whether Sarri will allow the France World Cup winner to leave midway through the campaign is still unknown, with a certain amount of risk involved.
Chelsea are challenging for the Premier League title, and for all of Giroud’s current struggles, he remains a handy player to have in the squad.
The veteran’s frustration is understandable, though, and he may be eyeing up regular football rather than being a bit-part player.
