Eden Hazard is unlikely to travel to Belarus for Chelsea’s Europa League clash with BATE Borisov as Maurizio Sarri wants him to be 100% fit for Sunday’s game against Everton.
Hazard has just returned to action after suffering a back injury which ruled him out of three games and Sarri is considering leaving him out so he does not have to make the 2,300-mile round trip to and from Belarus with a bad back.
Hazard has been in outstanding form for Chelsea this season and whilst the team have played well in his absence, they’ll want him fit and firing in the Premier League sooner rather than later.
Chelsea have won all three of their games in Group L and as such, are in a comfortable position and with Hazard unlikely to play much of a part in the game, Simon Johnson of the Standard says Sarri is considering leaving him in London to work on his fitness.
