Confirmed Starting XI vs Watford: Shaw and Fred miss out

Jose Mourinho has only made one change from the side which comfortably beat Burnley for the clash with Watford.

Luke Shaw, the club’s ‘Player of the Month’ for August, did not travel with the squad after suffering concussion, paving the way for Ashley Young, who scored twice in the same fixture last season.

New signing Fred once again has to settle for a place on the bench with Mourinho, clearly anticipating Watford’s potency at set-pieces, opting for a midfield trio of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini.

Here is the complete starting XI for the meeting at Vicarage Road this afternoon.
