Pereria knows full well that this season, these next nine months, are defining for him. Make or break.
He has spent enough time on the periphery. He has done enough of these ultimately pyrrhic pre-season tours. He has spent two years playing in La Liga, working indefatigably every week to improve himself.
And finally, at a time when supporters are looking for reason to smile, the fruits of his labour are staring to bear. He is playing like a first team player, moving the ball with purpose and skill. He feels like a new signing.
He is, somewhat amazingly, the main source of positivity for United at this moment in time. Supporters will be desperate to see him start against Leicester City.
