ESPN FC pundit Alejandro Moreno says that Gonzalo Higuain will agree to join the club, if they replace Antonio Conte with current Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri.
However, Moreno believes that unless that happens, it’s very unlikely that Higuain will move to Stamford Bridge.
The Argentinian international has been linked with the Blues in recent weeks, with some suggesting that he could be involved in a swap deal that would see Alvaro Morata head back to Juventus.
However, Morata said that he doubt any such deal would take place unless it was Allegri who was convincing the 30-year-old to move to London.
He said:
If Chelsea can convince Allegri to come to Chelsea, maybe he brings Higuain with him. Until then, I don’t think so.
That seems like a lot of caveats to a move. Firstly, Antonio Conte is still in charge at Stamford Bridge, whilst Allegri has reportedly committed his short-term future to the Italian champions, so a move for Higuain, on those terms, looks highly unlikely.
