AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas is happy to stay in Italy, despite being heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.
According to a report from Corriere dello Sport, the player is not pushing for a Premier League move having only recently signed a new deal for the club.
The report claims Manolas has spoken to the club’s sporting director Monchi and made his ambitions clear as he prepares for a new season in Rome.
This is not the first time Manolas has been linked with moves away from the Italian side.
He came very close to joining Zenit last summer when Chelsea were also interested in a deal, but the move fell through.
The Greek defender has a €38 million release clause in his contract, which Chelsea are said to be ready to activate, but there are doubts over the move.
Manolas had been earmarked by Maurizio Sarri as a potential target, while the Blues have also been linked Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.
