Liverpool star Roberto Firminio has rather surprisingly wished Manchester United’s recent signing Fred.
The two Brazilians are of course international teammates but they are club rivals which makes the wish a little unexpected.
The midfielder recently signed for a price of £50m according to some reports and is expected to slot into a three man midfield alongside Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.
Fred’s signing is meant to free up the Frenchman even more so that United could devastate opponents a little more consistently than they have last season.
Firminio though is still happy for his international teammate and hopes the former Shakhtar Donetsk man will enjoy success other than against Liverpool.
Firminio: “Fred is my room mate. He is a rival, but I’ve already congratulated him. I hope he has a lot of success playing for Manchester United. But on the field it’s a derby, you cannot help it!” #mufc [Star]

The Red Devils managed to avoid defeat to their fierce rivals last season and will be hoping to make it two wins out of two in the next one.
Jose Mourinho knows the pressure is on him to deliver the Premier League title in his third campaign, especially after building a top attacking side.
Manchester United’s defence may need some work but their attacking players are amongst the best in the league.
Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez are as exciting as it gets for a front four but Mourinho has failed to utilise them enough.
