Henrikh Mkhitaryan has reached ‘total agreement’ with Arsenal ahead of joining the Gunners from Manchester United in a swap-deal for Alexis Sanchez.
The Armenian forward reportedly bid farewell to his Man United teammates on Friday while Sanchez has been training with Arsenal’s reserves ahead of the proposed move.
It had been thought that the two players would swap clubs officially on Friday ahead of the weekend’s games, but complications in contracts and over any potential fee involved has held up the completion of the deal.
Fabrizio Romano, a reliable journalist for the Guardian, Di Marzio and Sky Sport, suggested minutes before United’s game against Burnley on Saturday afternoon that Mkhitaryan has now reached a ‘total agreement’ with Arsenal to allow the deal to go through imminently.

It’s thought that both clubs and representatives of both players aren’t in a huge rush after failing to meet the Friday lunchtime deadline to register for. the weekend’s games, and thus it may be a couple of days before an announcement.
However, there were fears that Mkhitaryan’s agent, Mino Raiola, who also represents United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku, would demand too much money from Arsenal and cause a transfer to fall through.
Some had also suggested that the two deals would become separate, with two transfer fees, to avoid the complications of a swap deal.
The London Evening Standard suggested on Thursday and Friday that Arsenal were requesting £10m in addition to Mkhitaryan to allow Sanchez to join United.
The Chilean forward’s contract at the Emirates expires in the summer, and was expected to join Manchester City either this month, for around £20m, or for free in five months time.
United swooped in, though, and were initially thought to have met Arsenal’s £35m asking price before it became clear that Mkhitaryan would be heading the other way.
Now it seems only a matter of time before the swap-deal is completed, and an announcement could come in the next couple of days after a week-long saga.
