It has been discovered that there were an incredible four records broken by Arsenal during last Saturday’s match with Manchester United (via Arsenal.com).

The 3-1 defeat to Manchester United wasn’t exactly forgettable for either set of fans and discussion is still ongoing within the media as fans attempt to digest the match.
One of Arsene Wenger’s biggest concerns about the fixture was the two goals conceded early by his team as a result of defensive errors. What was also worrying was the lack of quality finishing from the Arsenal players.
Now, it has been revealed that during the match, Arsenal broke an incredible four Premier League records, all of which revolved around the fact that it was perhaps the most attacking performance against a Manchester United side.
Arsenal achieved the highest percentage of possession against United (75.1%) as well as creating the highest number of chances against them (33).
United also completed the fewest number of passes (222) and were forced into blocking the most number of shots they’ve done in a match since records began (12).
Of course, the only statistic which wins points is whichever team scores the most goals. United didn’t have many chances but they took them which is what matters. Still, it’s interesting that stats back up the amazement which many felt when watching that match.
