Man United star felt unbeatable during clash vs Arsenal

Manchester United hero David de Gea insists he felt unbeatable in the fiery clash vs Arsenal at the Emirates stadium.

United travelled to London knowing full well that nothing short of a win would keep the pressure up on league leaders Manchester City.

Although Jesse Lingard was voted Man of the Match, De Gea was the one who received most of the pundits and supporters praise.

The Englishman scored a brace to help the Red Devils secure an all important three points but the Spaniard was responsible for keeping the Gunners at bay.

The goalkeeper’s display left manager Jose Mourinho in awe of his talent, claiming he was certainly the best goalkeeper in the world and the former Atletico Madrid man admitted he felt unbeatable.

Speaking to MUTV, David said: “Sometimes, you just start a game with a really good save, with a good feeling, you feel that [unbeatable] but we started the game really well, we scored two important goals and it’s true that we lost a bit of a control of the game after, but it was a good performance.”

David de Gea has been in as fine form as ever for Manchester United this season but has perhaps been less relied on than in previous years.

Jose Mourinho’s reputation of building on strong defences has seen De Gea rarely called upon but still performing incredibly well when needed.

Those are the signs of a top keeper and David’s display vs Arsenal may have singlehandedly saved United from dropping any points at the Emirates.

The Spaniard has had his head turned in recent years by interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid but has shown incredibly professionalism to remain focussed with the task at hand.

Although supporters would love for him to come out and claim loyalty to the Red Devils, as long as he’s performing as he did vs Arsenal, they won’t mind too much if he doesn’t.
