Speaking to FourFourTwo, Italian legend Alessandro Del Pierro wants former Italy manager and current Chelsea head coach, Antonio Conte, to be the Italy manager once more after his spell at Chelsea ends.
Conte left Italy in the summer of 2016 after Euro 2016 to join Chelsea and he won the Premier League in his first season in charge of The Blues.
After somewhat of a struggle this season for Chelsea, Conte has come under pressure despite winning the league last campaign, the speculation around his future has come into scrutiny as well due to Italy under-performing in the World Cup qualifiers and many have tipped Conte to replace Gian Piero Ventura.
Del Pierro had this to say on Conte’s future
He did great with Juve of course and a great job with the national team, we would love to have him back in Italy, of course, because he is a great coach. He would improve any team and this is what he did with Chelsea last season and what he did with Juve as well. We had some problems and he fixed it, then won the title. He has some amazing qualities and that’s why he’s coaching the best teams in the world. I hope he will have a great period with Chelsea and then maybe one day come back.
